Injury Prevention

Injuries are the leading killer of children age 1 through 18 years!
Each year in the US alone, more than 7,000 children die from unintentional injuries. One in four will be injured seriously enough to require medical treatment.

Most injuries can be predicted through risky, unsafe behavior and are therefore preventable. Family members, caregivers, and kids themselves can play a role in reducing injuries by learning good safety habits, using safe products and equipment, and following safety laws.

With knowledge, awareness, and a little time and effort you can help prevent needless injury. The programs offered will help you learn how to make childhood a safer, happier time for both you and your children.

The Healthreach programs of Exeter Hospital offer many FREE programs for injury prevention to our community. Our mission is to improve the health and wellness of the community. Our intent is to collaborate with area educators, providers, and organizations to provide a consistent and reliable message in the community.
